Jeff DaCunha

Jeff DaCunha is the owner and principal consultant for Brex LLC, which provides rod pumping optimization, dynamometer analysis, rod pumping system design, and training since 2009. Before Brex, he began in the industry at Lufkin Automation from 2006 to 2009, then helped start-up Spirit Energy through 2010. After this he worked as a production engineer and technical advisor at Pioneer Natural Resources from 2011 to 2018. He joined Parsley Energy in 2018 as the operations manager until the summer of 2020, at which point he went back to full time consulting. When not in the oil and gas realm, he is active in his podcast and other consulting at jeffdacunha.com.

After graduating from Baylor in 2004, Jeff was awarded a Davies Post Doctoral Research Fellowship from the National Academy of Sciences, which was a dual appointment as a mathematics professor at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York and Army Scientist at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, MD. He holds a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science, and an MS and PhD in Mathematics from Baylor University, an MS in Petroleum from Texas A&M, and an MS in Data Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
